Executive Vice President, Chief Transportation Officer
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO), the Executive Vice President, Chief Transportation Officer (CTO), is responsible for ensuring excellence in service delivery across all transit modes: bus, regional rail, light rail (future) demand response and vanpool. The CTO is directly responsible for providing guidance to the Vice Presidents responsible for each of the agency’s transit operations and leads the Authorities response to events and other service interruptions. The ideal candidate is a process-driven seasoned transit operations leader that possesses a high energy level and the dedication necessary to advance Capital Metro’s mission in the community we serve. Must be able to quickly gain acceptance and respect within all levels of the organization and with our partners.
WHAT YOU BRING
Education and Experience
•Bachelor's degree in public administration, urban planning, transportation, engineering, business administration, or another related field.
•Ten (10) or more years’ experience at a multi-modal transit system in progressively responsible operations roles, including at least 3 years of senior management responsibility at an agency with FTA-regulated rail operations (light rail, subway, etc.).
•Four (4) years of additional manager-level experience in transportation, or a closely related field may be substituted on a year for year basis for degree.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•Comprehensive knowledge of transportation operations and maintenance, project management techniques, employment, and labor law for a transit environment.
•Effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with employees, senior management, Board members, regulatory authorities, and the public.
•Effective organizational, analytical, confidentiality, quantitative, writing, multi-tasking and time management skills.
•Have excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
•High level of analytical and creative skills and the ability to find solutions to complex interpersonal, professional technical and administrative problems.
•Ability to effectively work as a team player
•Ability to make presentations to staff, Board of Directors and the public.
