  • Contract Administrator


    Are you a highly skilled contract administrator looking to expand your expertise? We are looking for a procurement professional to join the CapMetro team!

    The Contracts Administrator III reports directly to the Manager, Procurement.  This position performs highly advanced (senior-level) contract management work.  Work involves developing and evaluating a broad range of contracts for goods and services, as well as expertise in specialized areas.  Work under general direction with extensive latitude for independent judgment and action.  Administer resulting contracts through closure. 

    •Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. Related experience may substitute for educational requirements on a year for year basis up to four (4) years.
    •(CPM) Certified Purchasing Manager, (CPCM) Certified Purchasing Contracts Manager, (CPSM) Certified Professional in Supply Management, (CPPO) Certified Public Procurement Officer, (CTCM) Certified Texas Contract Manager, (APDP) Acquisition Professional Development Program or similar career level certification preferred, but must obtain within one (1) year of employment. 
    •Seven (7) years direct experience in the procurement field which includes four (4) years in government or transit related field using formal solicitation methods and contract administration. 

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    •Knowledge of public purchasing methods and procedures. 
    •Familiarity with the Federal Transit Administration’s Circular 4220.1F and Chapter 451 of the Texas Transportation Code is preferred.
    •Ability to conduct research, compile and analyze data, and make complex estimations. 
    •Ability to evaluate contracts and recommend future status; to interpret policies, procedures, and regulations; to evaluate fiscal data for reasonableness, necessity, and conformity with contract requirements; to negotiate the features of a contract.
    •Excellent communication skills which includes the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and orally and to produce documents using proper sentence structure, grammar and punctuation.
    •Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX for procurement reporting preferred.
    •Ability to maintain fiduciary obligation when handling materials and information of a confidential nature.
    •Ability to travel 5-10% of the time.
