Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce Selects Interim CEO

AUSTIN, Texas – The Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce (GAACC) today announced that Mark Duval has been selected as Interim President & CEO.

“We are truly delighted to welcome Mark into this role. He will work with our team and board to help guide us through the current leadership transition,” said Jessica Chen, Chair of the GAACC Board of Directors. “Mark’s impressive experience with the American Chamber of Commerce in China, and his leadership and passion for community makes him perfectly positioned to lead our efforts to serve GAACC members and the Central Texas AAPI community – and drive our programs to help expand Austin’s global business connections.”

He joined the GAACC Board of Directors in January 2023, where he began to serve on both the Executive Committee and Advocacy Committee before taking on this new role. Before returning to Austin in 2020, Duval was based in China where he lived for almost 25 years.

“It’s amazing to be back in Austin and I’m excited to be a part of and contribute to the community,” said Duval, “The GAACC Board has embraced a ‘Serve Local, Think Global’ vision and that’s very important to me and my family. I’m proud to be part of an organization focused on local issues as we continue to expand the global possibilities for Central Texas.”

The Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce has launched a national search for a President & CEO. Duval, Chen, and members of the GAACC Board of Directors will be on hand at the next GAACC event “State of the Chamber: Serve Local. Think Global” on February 28.
