Peelander Yellow will perform a concert Sunday, May 1 for a Golden Yellow Week Celebration hosted by the Austin-Oita Sister City Committee and Texas Sake.

The free event is being held in conjunction with Golden Week, a weeklong national spring celebration in Japan that contains multiple holidays.

Attendees also can participate with Peelander Yellow, a member of the Japanese action comic punk band Peelander Z, in a Hands of Austin art collaboration to be sent to Oita, Japan.

The celebration will be at Texas Sake., 440 E. St. Elmo Road, Suite B-2. Austin, Texas 78745.

Texas Sake has crafted a Golden Yellow Cocktail to be sold for $9. Those who wish to create the drink can purchase a $45 cocktail kit, which serves eight, at the event May 1. The kit also can be ordered online at https://txsake.com/shop/golden-yellow-cocktail-kit and picked at Texas Sake.

Those buying the kit can participate in the onsite cocktail demonstration at 2:30 p.m. That demonstration, and music and art performances that begin at 3 p.m., also will be streamed live at https://austinoita.org.

AOSCC’s mission is to promote and heighten public interest in and appreciation of the culture, people, languages, businesses, and products between the City of Austin and Oita, Japan. Oita, one of Austin’s 14 Sister Cities, has been a Sister City to Austin since 1990.
