    PR and Marketing for the Arts Register

    Mexican-American Cultural Center (MACC) Auditorium / 600 River Street / Austin 78701

    This workshop will provide an overview of fundamental public relations and marketing best practices for artists and arts organizations. Kathleen Stimpert (PR and Marketing Specialist for the Cultural Arts Division) and Krissi Reeves (City of Austin Arts Commission and Vox Solid Communications) will review basic PR and marketing principles and present actionable plans for promoting artistic projects.

    Social Media Marketing & Audience Engagement Register

    This workshop will be presented by Alle Cline, Engagement Editor for Texas Monthly, and former digital content strategist for the Blanton Museum of Art and social media manager for Slow Art Day. The session will simplify the complex-and sometimes overwhelming - world of social media so that creatives may use digital tools and strategies to support their promotional efforts.

    This panel, comprised of local arts media, will offer artists and arts organizations insight into the best ways to interact with the media and utilize media outlets to support the success of their projects. Panelists include Jeanne Claire van Ryzin (Freelance arts writer and former arts report for the Austin American-Statesman), Michael Lee, (KUT), Robert Faires (Austin Chronicle), and Nicole Raney (Culture Map).
