Tapas and yoga? The yogic practice of self-discipline is called tapas, the Sanskrit word that means to heat or burn. Basically, tapas is lighting your inner fire to catalyze positivity in your life through the practice. Stoke up your fiery willpower on the mat and burn through roadblocks in this 1-hour slow flowing vinyasa yoga session led by Terri Koen at the Austin Bouldering Project (ABP).
Terri Koen is a certified yoga instructor and has practiced since 2007. She comes from an Ashtanga lineage and melds the rigor of Ashtanga with a gentler flowing style. Prior to teaching, she worked in the corporate world for 12 years as an account planner in advertising. Her background in advertising as the consumer insights expert has made her keenly aware of students' needs, and she approaches each class as a unique opportunity to deliver what will benefit them most in that moment.
This is a physical practice, so please dress in clothes that allow you to move comfortably. Yoga mats and accessories will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own. RSVP and waivers required by May 29.
Registration fee is $15 and includes light lunch and an ABP day pass for members. Non-members pay $30 which includes associate membership.
