    Event Description:

    Everyone has heard about Bitcoin, right? As interesting as it might be, the technology that makes crypto-currencies possible has potential to transform existing business models in the long-term to be more efficient. Come and learn more at this networking mixer.

    Our speakers are Unmesh Mayekar, co-founder of Onintouch Solutions and Dr. Sriram Vishwanath, professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at UT Austin. Unmesh and Sriram will share insights about what it is, what makes it different, its advantages (transparency, decentralization, speed) and how it can be used. Their discussion will begin promptly at 6:20 PM.

    Unmesh has 20 years of experience in tech roles with enterprises and startups. He is also the Founder of LaborFair.com & Sadakmap.com. He has an MBA from Duke University, an M.S. in computer science from Louisiana Tech and a B.E. in electrical engineering from VJTI in Mumbai, India. 

    ​Sriram received his B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, M.S. from CalTech and his Ph.D. from Stanford University, all in electrical engineering. His industry experience includes work at National Semiconductor and Lucent Bell Labs. He has won NSF CAREER IEEE Joint IT / Comsoc Best Paper awards.
