    Event Description:

    This business basics workshop covers key requirements mandated by the Department of Labor and Customs and Immigration Services for verifying work authorization of employees using Form I-9. This form is routinely mishandled by employers which can lead to costly penalties. This workshop will review the basics of compliance and answer questions from attendees.

    This workshop will also cover hourly wage rules and explain the strict liability standards when employees make claims for unpaid time worked, unpaid overtime, and the difference between employees and independent contractors.  

    Our speaker is Richard Jung, a partner at Duggins Wren Mann & Romero, LLP. Mr. Jung focuses his practice in the areas of employment bases immigration and business law, including entity formation, construction, commercial transactions, commercial leases, and employment matters. He assists businesses navigate regulatory challenges and avoid unnecessary risks.
