March 14, 2017 – Idea Croron ka Live Video Taping in Austin
Today, the new Pakistani hit show will film it’s first episode of Idea Croron ka (Million Dollar Idea!) in the United States with host Nabeel Qadeer. This episode will air in early April 2017 and will feature guests from Austin’s entrepreneurial community including Alicia Dean, Paul O’Brien, Chris Scheeetz, Gordon Daugherty, and Preston Stewart.
March 13, 2017 – PITB Signs MOU with Capital Factory
The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) signed another MOU with Capital Factory to facilitate an exchange program with their Touchdown Austin team. Pakistani entrepreneurs will receive access to Capital Factory training and resources to help accelerate their launch into the U.S. market. Read more here.
March 10, 2017 – MOU Signed Between City of Austin and Lahore, Pakistan
A MOU between the City of Austin, Texas and the City of Lahore, Pakistan was signed by Mayor Adler and Dr. Umar Saif, Chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board, (PITB) designating the two cities as Science Cities partners who will promote bilateral trade, economic development, and exchange missions to each city. GAACC is pleased to support this partnership that will strengthen the ties between Austin and Lahore. Read more here.

However, limited funding inhibits growth of the startup ecosystem and lack of exposure to investors in international markets means the potential of many entrepreneurs goes un-tapped.
Dr. Umar Saif, Chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Vice Chancellor of Information Technology University, will share how PITB has positively contributed to IT infrastructure and entrepreneurship along with key trends and emerging partnership opportunities. August 15, 2016 - Second Training Partner Selected
GAACC is excited to announce that our next cohort will be hosted at Capital Factory during the first half of October 2016. Capital Factory is the entrepreneurial center of gravity in Austin, Texas. Located in the middle of downtown, Capital Factory has 50,000 square feet full of startups and entrepreneurs. During their time at Capital Factory, the Pakistani startups will have access to extensive training, mentorship, and networking. Training will be provided by Gordon Daugherty and the Founder's Academy. Their program will culminate in Pitch Showcase for members of the Austin startup ecosystem.

We are preparing to host our second group of startups who will be arriving in early October. Six startups from Plan9 in Pakistan have been selected:

- BookMyUmrah - online travel services for hajj/Umrah pilgrimages
- Club Internet - Bringing the next billion people online by improving the usability layer of the Internet

August 2, 2016 - Join the ATX Delegation to Pakistan
Calling all Texas investors and incubators! As part of the ATX+PAK Launch Program, we are hosting a delegation of incubators and investors to explore Pakistan's startup ecosystem and rising investment opportunities in Lahore, Pakistan on November 14 - 21, 2016. This opportunity will allow you to meet our partners at Plan9 (Pakistan's largest tech incubator) and PlanX (Pakistan's largest tech accelerator).
There are spots available for a small number of investors and other related businesses to join this delegation. A portion of the cost will be subsidized. The amount of the subsidy will depend on the total number of delegates. If you are interested in participating in this delegation, please complete this online application. The deadline to apply is August 31.

Patari is off to compete in World Startup Cup held in Washington DC! The World Startup Cup 2016 is an international competition participated in by eligible entrepreneurs all over the world. July 22, 2016 - Travly Raises $200,000 in Seed Funding
One of the startups from our first cohort, Travly secures investment from CresVentures. Travly was incubated at Plan9 - PITB's Tech Incubator and was later accelerated at PlanX. We congratulate team Travly and their CEO Shahmir Khan. Read more about this accomplishment here.
May 31, 2016- Travly to Attend 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit with President Obama
Congratulations to startup founder Shahmir Khan with Travly, one of our participants in the first ATX+PAK cohort, for being selected to attend the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit with President Obama. Travly is being named one of the top 150 startups in the world!
Travly was also the winner of the ATX+PAK Launch pitch showcase held May 18, 2016. Judges were impressed with the on demand rickshaw service's Tuk-Tuk Rani program for female drivers and customers. We're proud to have hosted Shahmir and the rest of the entrepreneur group here in Austin!

March 1, 2016 - First Training Partner Selected
GAACC is excited to partner with Tech Ranch Austin on our ATX+PAK Launch entrepreneurship exchange program. Tech Ranch focuses on development of the entrepreneur, the local and global community, and impacting the world. Tech Ranch has a robust international startup exchange program and appreciation of global connections.
Six startups from Pakistan will be hosted at Tech Ranch later this spring. During their time at Tech Ranch, the Pakistani startups will have access to extensive training, mentorship, and networking. Their program will culminate in a Demo Day for members of the Austin startup ecosystem.
February 16, 2016 - City of Austin Press Release
The City of Austin Economic Development Department Global Business Recruitment and Expansion Division has received a grant from the U.S. Embassy, Islamabad, Pakistan to facilitate a two-year entrepreneur exchange program between Austin and Pakistan.
ATX+PAK: Launch, a partnership between the City, the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce, and Information Technology University in Punjab Pakistan, will connect the vibrant community of entrepreneurs, creatives, and investors in Austin’s startup scene to those in emerging startup communities in Pakistan.
